(Via Schockwellenreiter) the Netzeitung is reporting that Google is considering removing news feeds from two extremist right-wing newspapers in its Web site news.google.de . The two newspapers that concern Google are the Nationalzeitung and the National Vanguard. The latter is tied to the American neo-Nazi group National Alliance, which prints and distributes Mein Kampf and has connections to the German NPD. Google denies that elimination of these news sources is censorship and that it will continue be neutral in the way it distributes the news:

Keuchel gegenüber der Netzeitung. «Wenn es um Gewaltverherrlichung oder
Verherrlichung des Dritten Reiches geht, haben wir eine Handhabe», so
der Sprecher. Wichtig für Google sei aber weiterhin, Meinungsfreiheit
zu wahren. «Wir bleiben neutral und schlagen uns weder auf die linke
noch die rechte Seite», so Keuchel.
I agree with Der Schockwellenreiter that Google should not get into the business of editing its news sources. The search robot is dumb and should remain so
Ein Suchmaschinen-Bot ist nicht dafür da, daß er zensiert. Wer bestimmt
denn sonst im Endeffekt, welche Seiten (resp. News) indiziert werden
dürfen und welche nicht? Die Bundesregierung etwa? Der
Law-and-Order-Man? Gott bewahre…
This sort of editorial censorship leads us down a slippery slope. No matter how offensive we find these publications the principle of press freedom must be upheld.
