The pro-war Bush-Blog Medienkritik is organizing a demo for tomorrow across from the White House on the occasion of Chancellor Schröder’s meeting with President Bush. The bloggers are protesting "anti-American" bias in the German news media. Principal culprits are Der Spiegel, Stern, Sueddeutsche Zeitung and the ARD network. No doubt the District police are mobilizing additional reinforcements to contain the tens of thousands of Americans who are outraged that German newspapers criticize President Bush and his policies.
Actually, it is becoming increasingly challenging for the Bush-Bloggers to claim that criticism of their glorious leader represents "anti-American bias." With Bush’s popularity plummeting to an all-time low (the lowest polling numbers since Richard Nixon), with 6 out of 10 Americans now against the war in Iraq, with newspapers across the US calling for withdrawal of troops from Iraq and the closure of detention camp in Guantanamo Bay, the Bush-bloggers will have to expand their demo to protest against "anti-American bias in the German and American press."
