The NPD’s Platform in Saxony

So the NPD received nearly 10% of the votes in the state elections in Saxony, but the internal numbers are even more depressing. Voters under 30 years old flocked to the neo-Nazis. Der Spiegel points out that if it weren’t for the city voters in Leipzig and Dresden, who supported the mainstream democratic party, the results would have been even more dismal: one in four voters in some of the rural villages chose the NPD.

So we know these voters reject the Hartz IV reforms. What is their platform? What do they stand for? To learn more I went to the Web site of Holger Apfel, the leader of the neo-Nazi NPD in Saxony.
His platform is a predictable mix of völkisch hatred of foreigners and populist economics. But even so, there were a few unexpected gems:

The state treasury is being depleted by tranfers of € billions to the United Nations, European Union, and “homosexual support groups”.

The woeful economic situation has resulted in a wholesale emigration of Saxons to western Germany. Now “enemies of the people” have decided to repopulate the region with foreigners. Germans will suffer the same fate as the “Indians” in America; they cannot stop the influx and will be herded into “reservations”.

While banging heads of foreigners is perhaps unavoidable – maybe even desireable – abuse of animals will no longer be tolerated under any circumstance.

English lessons will be eliminated from elementary school; anglicisms eliminated from the German language. Public education will not be provided to the children of foreigners who do not possess an adequate proficiency in the German language.

Finally, the entrance of Turkey into the EU would be a catastophe for Germany, and must be prevented
at all cost.

Apfel will have ample opportunity to present his “ideas” as a member of the state assembly in Saxony. The platform is there on the Internet for all to see, so there is absolutely no excuse for any voter to claim he/she didn’t know.

But before we shake our heads at the NPD platform and the “dumb” voters of Saxony, we might want to revisit the platform of the Republican Party in the US, which was published at their convention in New York City 3 weeks ago. There is very similar language concerning homosexuals, for example. But the Republicans openly state one goal that even the neo-Nazis would not dare to: preemptive war.
