The murder of a federal judge’s family in Chicago presumably by a white supremacist hate group reminds us that Germany is not alone in having a problem with right-wing extremists. In the US, these are fringe groups that seem to operate independently of each other and have very small followings. Still, it is worth looking into any possible connections between the US white supremacists and the German neo-Nazi NPD. Judge Joan Lefkow had her life threatened after presiding over the trial of Matt Hale. Hale had founded a racist organization called The World Church of the Creator. The "church" expouses an ideology of racial hatred:
"Creativity" considers itself a religion based on the belief that the
white race is "nature’s highest creation" and that "white people are
the creators of all worthwhile culture and civilization." Followers do
not believe in God, heaven, hell or eternal life. They consider Jews
and nonwhites, whom they refer to as "mud races," to be the "natural
enemies" of the white race.
From an early age, Hale was inspired by reading Mein Kampf and other Nazi literature. He models himself after Hitler, "the greatest white leader that ever lived"(Hale) and dreams of a Putsch in his home state of Illinois:
"Just as Adolf Hitler knew that before he could win
Germany, he must first win his home turf, Munich and
then Bavaria as a whole, before we can win the world, I
fervently believe that we must win our capital, Illinois."
Hale’s Web site has some convoluted information about his "religion" and a link to a crude site in German, but there is no indication that he has any followers in Germany.
There is evidence, however, that other white supramacist groups in the US are following the developments of the NPD very closely. A group called the National Vanguard in West Virginia was elated by the NPD’s electoral victory in Saxony last year. Another very interesting Web site is Stormfront.org which has a discussion forum, and also information in German. A "comrade" from the NPD recently posted about the NPD protest march in Dresden. Another post reminds folks in the US about the planned demonstration in Berlin on May 8, 2005:
Big demonstation and march is being planned. European nationalists want
to protest against the imposed guilty-syndrome, lies about "holocaust"
and celebrating the victory of communism in 2WW.
European white national movement is arising! Just a few examples:
August 2004/Wunsiedel (Bavaria, Germany) – over 7000 comrades instead of massive campaign in jewish mainstream media;
recently – February 2005/Dresden (Germany) – over 10000 comrades and
other people remembered terrorist bombing in February 1945 when over
than 200 000 civilians died.

Attempts by the NPD – either officially or informally – to establish contact with extremist organizations in the US need to be watched closely. It would be tempting to dismiss these people as harmless lunatics, but as the events in Chicago show, their tactics can be lethal.
