Calling the Holocaust "the blackest lie in history", an insurance salesman from Illinois is running as a Republican to represent his district in Congress. Arthur Jones, running for office in Lyons, Illinois, is evidently seeking the Nazi vote, which he sees as conforming to the platform of the Republican Party:
“As far as I’m concerned, the Holocaust is nothing more than an international extortion racket by the Jews. It’s the blackest lie in history. Millions of dollars are being made by Jews telling this tale of woe and misfortune in books, movies, plays and TV.”
On his Web site, Arthur Jones sounds the alarm concernint "the extreme hatred of anti-Christ Israel for Jesus Christ and His Blessed Mother."
I'm surprised Arthur Jones has not been endorsed yet by the "Catholic" Holocaust-denial site Kreuz.Net, which once again just warned that the "Jews at Goldman Sachs" were taking over the world.
Holocaust-denial seems to be creeping into the mainstream in US culture. Recently I wrote about how the US historian Professor Paul Gottfried asserted in a magazine article that the standard historical account of the Holocaust is a "leftist myth" and anyway hardly any Germans had any knowledge of it.
The fact that Mr. Jones is comfortable going public with his bigotted ignorance – and even sees it as a good way to win Republican votes – shows us that as a nation there is always a risk sliding into darkness.

Yes, and black is really white and water always flows up.
This guy is obviously out of touch with the Republicans. They are the biggest supporters of Israel. Every Republican candidate goes to Israel and makes a tour sort of. It’s part of the election trail for them. He might try the Libertarian Party instead. They are more apt to have an every-man-for-himself attitude.
I meant by the above, that he was riding on the Republican ticket. Just like if I am in the Green Party, but want to help get a Democrat into office to at least beat Republicans.
I think this is a major flaw in party politics in the USA. A lot of Democrats are not Democrats, and Republicans not Republicans. Neither party ever does what it says it will do. We need to start rigorously defining each party so as to avoid this and diversify our party politics.
