Watch what happened today on the floor of the United States Senate when a Hindu cleric was invited to deliver the invocation.
The group of ultra-patriotic American Christians who staged the disruption later put out the following press release:
"Not one Senator had the backbone to stand as our Founding Fathers stood. They stood on the Gospel of Jesus Christ! There were three in the audience with the courage to stand and proclaim, ‘Thou shalt have no other gods before me.’ They were immediately removed from the chambers, arrested, and are in jail now. which part of my comment did you not like that you had to delete it? About the Hindu nationalism that takes on equally fascist forms as European fascism or the US recently?
Or don’t you like that it was Hitler who re-introduced “public prayer” in Germany after this ugly practice had been defeated in the earlier ‘Kulturkampf’?
Many things about the US are now little more than copy-cat Arianism or White Supremacy that we Europeans have so much experience with. It’s not like I’m attacking you personally by pointing these things out, am I? Are you able to look beyond your nationalist ‘Tellerrand’ that far?
